ABOUT HUEY’S ON MAIN.
A Taste of New Orleans in the Heart of Statesboro
At Huey’s on Main, we bring the soulful flavors of Louisiana to downtown Statesboro.
Our kitchen celebrates the rich, comforting dishes that define New Orleans cuisine.
From po’boys piled high on Leidenheimer bread to golden beignets dusted with powdered sugar, every bite captures the warmth, spice, and spirit of the Crescent City, crafted right here on South Main Street.
MEET CHEF CHRIS FAGAN
A New Orleans native with more than two decades at Emeril’s restaurants, Chef Chris Fagan brings refined Creole technique and Gulf-inspired flavors to Huey’s on Main. He leads the kitchen as a partner, serving favorites like shrimp & grits, crawfish étouffée, gumbo, and crispy fried shrimp po’boys.
Chef Chris and his wife, Loreal, now call Georgia home, and his craft guides every plate that leaves the kitchen.
Chef Chris with mentor Chef Emeril Lagasse—sharing the spirit of New Orleans with every dish.
OUR STORY
Huey’s on Main was founded with one simple goal: to create a restaurant where good food, good people, and good times come together. Huey’s began in 1983 on Peachtree Street in Atlanta, created by high-school friends Bobby Isaacson and Steve Rainwater. The tradition continued on Savannah’s River Street, where locals and travelers gathered for Louisiana favorites and Southern hospitality.
What began as a vision to bring something new to the Statesboro dining scene has grown into a community favorite. A relaxed gathering place where locals, students, and visitors alike can enjoy authentic Louisiana comfort food without leaving Georgia.
Today, Huey’s on Main carries that legacy to Statesboro—blending small-town Georgia charm with the color and energy of the French Quarter. Our team renovated the historic South Main space from the ground up, blending small-town charm with French Quarter flair. From the hand-painted murals to the bar’s inviting glow, every detail was designed to make you feel like you’ve stepped off Main Street and onto Bourbon Street.
MADE FROM SCRATCH - ALWAYS.
THE HUEY’S EXPERIENCE
We believe that dining should be more than a meal — it should be an experience. Whether you’re meeting friends for lunch, enjoying a family dinner, or winding down with a drink after work, Huey’s offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.
Our menu features Louisiana classics prepared with care and tradition:
Signature Po’boys made on authentic New Orleans bread
Crawfish Étouffée simmered to perfection
Shrimp & Grits, Jambalaya, and Seafood Platters
And of course, our famous Beignets — crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside, and served fresh all day
Pair your meal with a house cocktail, an ice-cold beer, or a cup of dark roast chicory coffee for the perfect Southern finish.
